First time at Varnish on King tonight and definitely won't be the last! The ladies working there were so kind, friendly and always checking up on you and how's things are going. We had the endless steak night and it was delicious! As were the sauces it came with and the drinks. The atmosphere was so cosy and the music was great, really fit the vibe. Definitely recommend and will definitely be back to try some of the other food on the menu. Thank you for such a great experience. ☺️

Food was amazing and service was impeccable. Even during rush hour they we still super attentive and made our time so enjoyable. Drinks are strong and delicious and again cannot rave about the food enough if you want something special get the chefs selections for 75pp it was just outstanding. Defs recommend booking of your thinking Friday to Sunday as it is busy but you won’t regret ❤️

We came here last night for the bottomless steak night. I feel like sometimes you go to a bottomless event and you’ve gotta hound the waiter for the next round, waiting a really really long time in between plates etc and this was not the case here. The bar staff and servers were all super friendly and proactive, we had our first round of drinks and food within maybe 10 minutes, and were constantly topped up with food all night. We ended up having 4 rounds of steak, and we were surprised at the quality of the steak. Cooked to perfection, and really big quantities. Would 10/10 go back.

One of the coolest bars in Perth, if you like whiskey you’ll definitely like this bar. Came here on a Monday night, the staff were very accommodating, they helped us choose and try some nice whiskeys and some delicious food. We had heard of the bacon with whiskey, so we had to try the whiskey bacon flight, and that was great, really enjoyed it and it was a great experience. If you’re looking for a night out would definitely recommend coming here for a drink.

This place was a fabulous find! Literally, as we walked past it twice because of the incredibly understated signage out front. The bar specialises in bourbon and whiskey (being modelled off the nouveau dive bars of the States) but also has a good selection of beverages including local wines. We had the Arkady lamb rump with lemon myrtle salted butter. Wow! It was outrageously succulent and delicious and one of the best lamb rumps I've ever had. The side dishes were equally tasty and we washed the whole meal down with a delightful drop from Margaret River. The service was excellent and the atmosphere cosy. Highly recommend.

Had the 'Endless Steak' experience with a few mates - well worth it. Chips are seasoned really well, the steak is cooked to everyones individual preferences and the servers are great! Steaks came out super quickly, enough that one of my mates ate 6 whole steaks! The steak experience was well worth the price! Good atmosphere too :)

Wow! Where do I begin! Me and my partner went to the 90 minute endless steak night last night and we were blown away! Our server Casey was so attentive and friendly along with all the other staff. They were constantly asking if we needed more steak before we had even finished our last plate which kept the flow going and there was barely any wait! We loved our cocktails and then food was so amazing for a great price. We will definitely be back!!!

I went to Varnish on King for the first time on Saturday night. I had a great time. I would highly recommend the place for a date night or a casual catch up with a small group of friends. The food menu is small, but the whiskey/whisky list is extensive. The bar offers mostly American whiskeys, but also has a select few other staples on the list. Wait staff and bartenders were all very friendly and helpful. I ordered the bacon whiskey flight. The pairings (Which the bartender told me was done based on fat content) were excellent. As a party of two, we also ordered two entrées, two sides and a dessert, all to share, plus a main each. All the food was excellent. The venue isn’t large and is a little bit narrow. However, the seating isn’t crowded, you still feel like you have enough space to be comfortable. The décor appears heavily influenced by Deep South American culture, with perhaps some subtle prohibition era vibes. Recognisable American soft rock was playing the whole time we were there with a few country songs thrown in. Music and noise at the venue was not quiet, but not so loud you couldn’t have a conversation at a comfortable volume.

The drinks and food were really good, but the best part of this place were the superb staff and the banger music. The lady in the red top and red hair gave us excellent service, but all the staff were also brilliant.

One of Perth’s true hidden gems. This is a unique, exclusive spot with an intimate atmosphere and a sophisticated crowd. The house cocktails are exceptional, the food is delicious, and the staff are both highly professional and friendly. What impressed us most, however, was the stunning interior design—it really sets the bar apart. Highly recommended; I’ll definitely be back!
